Kicinski Will Lead the District in the Right Direction
Polls taken over the last year indicate that as high as 75% say our country is headed in the wrong direction. Michael Kicinski, Republican candidate for Congress, agrees with the poll's conclusion and said that is why he got more actively involved and what has led him to run for office. "We supported, campaigned, and voted for Mr. Hanna on his campaign words," Kicinski said. "But he has voted for every spending bill and voted 3 times to increase our debt limit, all the while not dong anything to bring real budget cuts and balance the budget. I have to agree with the poll because I am one of the millions that know Congress is taking us in the wrong direction."
"The victory in the Wisconsin recall election is a loud voice to the nation," said Kicinski. "Now we have the proof that the People want a balanced budget and real spending cuts. Mr. Hanna has ignored us this past year and a half when we told him numerous times that he would not have Tea Party support if he voted to increase the debt limit. And not only that, he even lost Conservative Party backing, too."
The lack of budget and spending cuts are not the only reasons Kicinski thinks the country is headed in the wrong direction. "Congress is not protecting our freedoms and privacy," said Kicinski. "Congress passed the NDAA without safeguarding Constitutional rights for our citizens and military. Mr. Hanna refused to back an amendment to remove the provisions for detaining US citizens without due process. Mr. Hanna also voted for CISPA (Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act), a bill meant to share personal information of internet users with government agencies."
Kicinski is not afraid to speak on the issues, while Hanna remains silent with no references to any issue, even on his campaign website. "He is ignoring the issues during this primary election because he knows his record shows he has failed the People," Kicinski said. "I will not ignore the issues and turn my back on the People. We have victory in Wisconsin. Now let's have victory in New York District 22 for Constitutional Government and Fiscal Responsibility."
Michael Kicinski is on the ballot for the New York Republican Congressional Primary set for June 26.
