Why is Michael Kicinski running for Congress?
For our Children's Future! In the 2010 elections, people across the nation voted incumbents that were not doing their jobs out of office. We did the same in NY-24. We campaigned hard for our present representative and got him elected. But he has continually voted to increase the debt limit, which is damaging the nation. We need real cuts in the budget and a working plan to pay down the debt - not more borrowing for more spending. We're leaving our children a national debt that they can never repay.
About Mike:
Michael Kicinski's parents were born and raised in the Triple Cities area. He was born in Michigan but has lived in New York for the past 35 years and has been actively involved in local and national issues for over 25 years.
Mike, 53, is an electronics engineer who was part of the corporate and technology downsizing after September 11, 2001. Unable to find new work in the Dutchess County area, the family sold their house and moved to Central NY where it was more affordable. He learned first hand about job loss and struggling because of government mandates and regulations being a burden on businesses, eliminating jobs and forcing manufacturing out of the country. He has held a few temporary positions but not directly related to his field of electronics and fiber optics.
Mike has lived in Earlville since 2003 and has been a regular attendee of the Village of Earlville board meetings. He was candidate for Mayor in probably the largest voter turnout election in the history of the village. He also ran for Trustee in a three way race.
Mike is a founding member and local coordinator with Norwich TEA Party Patriots, since Tax Day 2009. He has been on the front lines with rallies, indoor meetings and talks, and local, Albany, and D.C. office visits on the issues involving national budget and debt, government health care, family, marriage, life, environmental issues, and 1st Amendment and 2nd Amendment issues. Mike is a member of the NRA and has been qualified as an NRA Range Safety Instructor.
Mike has been married to his wife, Cathy, for 23 years. She works as a Registered Nurse. Together they have 12 children (7 boys, 5 girls), and 1 daughter-in-law. They attend Holmesville Baptist Church in South New Berlin.
Being a student of history, Mike joined as a member of Quincy Square Museum Association shortly after moving to the area. He is presently Vice President, and has been a Trustee.
Mike is a Federal Communications Commission licensed Amateur Radio Operator ("Ham" radio), call sign W2MK, Extra Class licensee. He is a member of Chenango Valley Amateur Radio Association, Norwich, NY. He has taken part in emergency communications simulations and drills, including annual "Field Day" events. He has assisted four of his children to successfully study and pass the required exams to become licensed radio operators, also.
Michael Kicinski's efforts, determination, and faith prove that this nation can be restored to its constitutional roots of the founding fathers. He will continue to fight for lowering taxes and reducing our national debt to improve our economy, for reduced mandates and regulations to help large and small business, all for the benefit of our nation and our families.
